The Bitter Pit of the Cherry

Since I started writing, some people have referred to me as being "a creative." I never thought much about it but I suppose I am "a creative."
With two novels published and available, one would think an author might take a break. Think about marketing, or monitor sales numbers. But no, it doesn't work that way. I've found that "creatives" have a need to create that never leaves you alone. It nags at you. Sometimes in the middle of the day, but also in the wee hours. Waking you at 5 o'clock, thinking, thinking, thinking, building a scene in your mind until you must drag yourself out of bed, get a cup of coffee, and sit at the keyboard to get it all down. Did I mention I've never been a morning person?
In September 2023 I began writing my third novel, The Bitter Pit of the Cherry. My outline names twenty chapters. It is now mid-December and I have completed a second draft of chapters one through six, and chapters nine and ten. When it nags at you, you must obey.
